The Job Role 

The Presales Consultant is responsible for assisting the Sales, Marketing and Product teams by providing product knowledge, domain expertise, and technical knowledge in all sales processes.  They work with these teams to respond to incoming requests from both existing customers and new business,  and to generate activity in the market.  They are responsible for building and delivering product demonstrations of existing products, and will also be called upon to construct proof of concept demonstrations on occasion.

Support the Sales team in acquisition of new business by developing high quality proposals and tender responses

  • Showcase our product offerings to potential new clients by building, conducting and providing support for demonstrations, proof of concepts, RFI’s, RFP’s, RFQ’s etc
  • To be the product expert and the first point of contact for any product queries in the sales process
  • Develop a thorough knowledge and understanding of our product range to demonstrate expertise to potential clients
  • Work with other departments across the business to ensure and maintain brand consistency and strategic alignment, regularly attending and contributing to internal meetings
  • Support RFI, RFP and RFQ process

Essential

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including:
    • Critical listening and questioning
    • Ability to understand and articulate problems and solutions
    • Ability to articulate technical information to non-technical colleagues ensuring it is clear and easy to understand
  • Experience of building and delivering client presentations
  • Able to work effectively with all areas of the business from Sales to Development
  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies and adapt to changing technical environments
  • Ability to work on one’s own initiative
  • Strong interpersonal skills and is confident developing relationships both internally and externally
  • Ability to travel within UK on a regular basis

Desirable:

  • Has an understanding of the benefits of Cloud Computing and knowledge of cloud computing technologies
  • Working knowledge of CRM solutions; Salesforce experience or accreditations would be particularly advantageous
  • Experience of working in public sector
  • Previous experience in a Sales or Consultancy environment
