Mid Sussex District Council (MSDC) announce Arcus Global (Arcus) as a key technology partner following soft market testing, reference visits and a selection process carried out through the Digital Market and G-Cloud 7.

MSDC have chosen to implement Salesforce as a Platform for Government to enable transformation across the Authority, replacing legacy applications which are hindering progress and slowing down the roll-out of digital services.

“As a council we understand how investment in the right technology can improve the services we provide while increasing efficiency across the organisation. Said Simon Hughes, Head of Digital at MSDC. “Arcus were the obvious partner given their vast knowledge and experience of Local Government, and how to apply the Salesforce ecosystem to our business needs. What impressed us, was their understanding of our “end to end” business processes and their appreciation of the complexity and importance of our services”

MSDC had a business critical need to replace the incumbent CRM solution by the end of March 2016. MSDC were also looking to improve how Waste Management processes were handled. Following a demonstration and site visit to see the Arcus Waste Management app in action, MSDC decided to implement both solutions in parallel.

Arcus made an immediate start to meet the council’s tight time-scales. Simon continues “The first phase involved understanding the technology landscape across the council and defining a roadmap with Arcus. Arcus has made a real effort to begin rapid deployment of Salesforce Service Cloud as our new CRM and the Arcus Waste Management solution to replace our ageing application. We are excited to be working closely with Arcus on this important programme of work and see this as the start of a long term relationship”.

By the beginning of April both CRM and Waste Management solutions had been successfully implemented. The project was delivered in less than 2 months, with all technical and architectural challenges overcome.

Arcus worked in collaboration with MSDC using agile the methodology which involved a period of discovery followed by product configuration sprints. This is the Arcus approach for all projects to ensure that the client has a chance to re-engineer their business processes and that the final product configuration hits desired transformational objectives, delivering the expected return on investment.

Diane Talbot, Head of Customer Services and Communications at MSDC gave her thoughts on Arcus as an implementation partner. “I have been so impressed with the Arcus team, they have been extremely helpful and professional and are really patient. They’re also really responsive and I know that my team have confidence in what they are doing and in their ability to deliver. They have felt like a natural extension to our team during the implementation.”

MSDC follows in the footsteps of other pioneering UK councils working with Arcus. Denis Kaminskiy, CEO at Arcus said “MSDC is a great partner for us, their desire to be truly innovative and transformational is what makes them such a great authority to work with. We continue to build our partnership with the council to accelerate the transformation agenda and bring forward the business benefits that digital technology enables. I am proud of our team delivering in 2 months, what can take others years to accomplish”.
