Rotherham Metropolitan Borough Council (RMB() has contracted with Arcus Global (Arcus) following a thorough open OJEU procurement exercise to provide its Digital Services Hub. The new platform will enable citizens, businesses and other stakeholders across the authority to interact digitally with the council, enabling Rotherham to be an always on, always available Authority.

RMBC is looking to dramatically improve services for its customers; to do so they need to redesign end to end business processes across the council. To deliver against these objectives RMBC has chosen the Arcus Digital Services Hub, built on the world leading Salesforce.com platform to provide a flexible set of core capabilities that will be configured to deliver the needs of multiple business areas. The first phase will be delivered in approximately four months and includes Council Tax, Housing & Council Tax Benefits, Non Domestic Rates, Waste Services and Libraries.

Rachel O’Neil, Customer Access Manager at RMBC said
“As a council we understand the growing demand from our residents and businesses to be able to do things quickly, easily. anywhere and at any time. Investing in the right technology now will allow us to offer our customers more services and make them as easy to use as internet banking for example. It also means that we can transform our processes to make them more targeted and efficient ensuring we can continue to deliver services against the back-drop of significant budget decreases.”

Arcus is uniquely placed to provide both business change and technical advisory services, along with a superb set of technology solutions delivered via a robust platform. This allows Local Authorities to gain the best mix of advice and technology across all lines of business to invest in outcomes and deliverables, not pay for software. The Arcus approach allows Local Authorities to replace the legacy technology that is hindering progress on Digital Transformation agenda across Local Government. As a partner, RMBC has the opportunity to take advantage of the full suite of Local Government applications, built by Arcus on the same platform, multiplying the benefits of their investment.

RMBC are now engaged with a supplier that can truly help to achieve the medium to long term vision of the Authority. Rachel continues

“There is a real appetite in the council to transform the way we work and we were impressed by all that Arcus bring to the table. We have some short term goals but are also planning now for the medium to long term and we wanted a supplier that can help us continuously improve and come with us on the journey. Arcus certainly fits the bill.”

RMBC follows in the footsteps of other pioneering UI< councils working with Arcus such as Peterborough City Council, Aylesbury Vale District Council, Bristol City Council and many others.

Denis l(aminskiy, CEO at Arcus said “The Challenge RMBC face to continue delivering quality services at a reduced cost is huge. RMBC recognised that a radical approach was needed to enable the required amount of change. The selection and procurement process left no doubt in our minds as to the nature of this project and we are delighted to have been chosen to drive this critical stream of RMBC’s transformation agenda. We look forward to successfully delivering these outcomes and to working with RMBC on many more challenges.”
