Arcus Global has been selected by Salford Council to implement its Built Environment applications for Planning and Building Control, signalling a firm move away from legacy IT systems.

Salford Council who won the RTPI Planning Authority of the Year award in 2022 has opted to move to a cloud-based planning system which enhances flexibility, remote working and improves end-user experience.  The new Arcus Built Environment platform will provide a modern Software as a Service solution that provides a fully integrated case management for Planning, Building Control and Property Gazetteer.  Other benefits include dedicated and fully integrated mobile applications designed specifically to support teams whilst on site. In addition to this, the new system will enable applicants to easily submit online Building Control Applications, including attaching documents and paying fees.

Anthony Stephenson, Development Management Group Leader at Salford Council comments: “Following a comprehensive market evaluation Arcus Global emerged as the only supplier who could meet all of our service expectations.  The Arcus platform offered a number of benefits including being able to utilise the power of Salesforce, integrated AI and real-time data visualisation that may open up further automation and service insight in the future; and a ‘low-code’ platform that enables easy configurability without specialist knowledge.”
