A new cloud based software solution to help manage Planning, Building Control and Land Charges is being introduced at London’s largest Borough, Bromley, which is also one of England’s busiest planning authorities.

An agreement is in place for up to 4 years with a total value of over £325,000 including optional extensions for Arcus Global, a leading provider of cloud-based software solutions, to implement its Built Environment applications for Planning, Building Control and Local Land Charges

Bromley Council has opted to move to a cloud-based planning system which will enhance flexibile working and improve customer experience, including for residents who need to apply for planning or building control approvals.  In addition to this, the new system will enable applicants to easily submit online Building Control Applications, including attaching documents.

The new Arcus Built Environment platform will provide a fully integrated case management for Planning, Building Control, Land Charges and Property Gazetteer.  As the new system includes dedicated and fully integrated mobile applications, staff will be able access and upload casework information when away from the office, helping to improve efficiency.

Councillor Yvonne Bear, Executive Councillor for Renewal Recreation and Housing said, “The new Arcus Global system will support a better, more efficient way of working, with the better integration of our systems also helping us to be much more responsive.  This upgrade will also mean that residents will be able to apply for building control approval online and search for planning applications more easily as well.”

James Thompson, Business Development Director at Arcus Global adds: “We are pleased to have been awarded the contract by the London Borough of Bromley.  The Arcus Built Environment platform gives Bromley Council the flexibility to adapt their software as they move forward, better supporting their business needs.  We recognise that local authorities are complex organisations, with unique needs and what we are delivering is more than just an out of the  box solution.  By working in partnership with Bromley Council, we are also able to offer a low-code platform that can easily extend and adapt, whilst offering an improved digital experience for all.”
