An absolutely glorious day at Heartwood: Making a difference to woodlands, communities & the environment (https://www.linkedin.com/company/heartwood-community-woodland-group) utilising our volunteering days of the year with the @arcus global team

An hour or so up the A14/M1/M42 took us to the National Forest and the location of our volunteering day – Heartwood CIC. We were primed and ready with bacon rolls on arrival from the open fire to fuel us for a day of education on woodlands management.

What’s more – the beautiful woodland located in the heart of our valued clients @South Derbyshire District Council

We spent the day completing a variety of exciting tasks (not just eating bacon rolls and wood fired pizza) including…

Tree felling
Hedge laying
And fetching charcoal from the retort

As you can imagine, these sort of activities are very high risk with significant potential for injury and require qualified personnel to manage the sessions.

Therefore, Arcus are very proud to be donating a specialist woodland first aid kit to Heartwood.
