About Arcus

You will be helping customers move to AWS by migrating existing applications onto the platform and / or implementing entirely new systems.

Arcus Global is an award-winning SME that is growing rapidly and delivers Cloud  solutions to clients within the public sector. This role is in our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Division which was the first in Europe to win the AWS Public Sector competency and scored 1000/1000 in its last AWS Managed Service Partner Audit. We have been helping the public sector to use AWS since 2011 and have a reputation for creating innovative but practical solutions at speed.

We are based in Cambridge but need to provide a team that will be on-site in the West Midlands for four days a week. We are therefore keen to create a team that is home-based and can either commute daily to the West Midlands or can stay in the area on a weekly basis (we will pay travel and subsistence expenses in both cases). Your role will involve handling more tricky technical migration work and providing advice and support to the Consultants in the team. You will report to our Principal Technologist - Implementation in Cambridge and will work closely with our Project Manager and Solutions Architect on the client-site.

Self-motivated and quick to learn

  • Able to quickly get up to speed with new technologies. You will need to find ways to make applications work on AWS that use technologies that you have not seen before and you will have to work with colleagues, the Internet and third parties to find and test solutions to problems.

Good problem solving and teamwork skills

  • Able to break down complex problems into manageable issues.

  • Ready to experiment with different solutions, iterating quickly in order to overcome obstacles.

  • Able to ask for help when stuck and willing to assist colleagues so that the team achieves the objective.

Willingness to travel
