About Arcus

You will analyse applications and design infrastructure that enables them to run on AWS so that our clients can migrate to the Cloud.

Arcus Global is an award-winning SME that is growing rapidly and delivers Cloud  solutions to clients within the public sector. This role is in our Amazon Web Services (AWS) Division which was the first in Europe to win the AWS Public Sector competency and scored 1000/1000 in its last AWS Managed Service Partner Audit. We have been helping the public sector to use AWS since 2011 and have a reputation for creating innovative but practical solutions at speed.

We are based in Cambridge but need to provide a team that will be on-site in the West Midlands for four days a week. We are therefore keen to create a team that is home-based and can either commute daily to the West Midlands or can stay in the area on a weekly basis (we will pay travel and subsistence expenses in both cases). Your role will report to the Cloud Architect in Cambridge and will work alongside AWS Architects, our Project Manager and Consultants on the client site.

What you’ll be doing

  • Define requirements for each application when it is moved to the Cloud by gathering business requirements and combining them with systems analysis

  • Design architectures that will deliver those requirements, and that are wherever possible secure, scalable,  resilient and in line with AWS best practices and client technical standards

  • Work with client experts to suggest and agree technical plans and approaches

  • Work with our Project Manager to create estimates and proposals for new work

  • Work with the Senior Consultant and the other Consultants in the Team to solve technical problems

  • Keep abreast of new developments involving AWS and applications
